BN Week 19: GOAT week + flannels & friends & fire!

posted on

September 4, 2024

Hello from TF!

Looks like we've got a gorgeous weather weekend which is perfect because we have an amazing line-up of farm fun so we hope you'll visit us (at least a few more times before the season ends....in 5 weeks)!

This weekend is looking a bit cool so throw those flannels in the car and make plans to join us by the fire! (Bonus points if you're the person the smoke is always attracted to. 😂)

Burger of the Week: A Burger Named Goat

  • A toasted ciabatta bun
  • 100% grassfed beef patty
  • Creamy Goat cheese
  • Roasted Roma tomatoes
  • Garlic & fresh basil mayo
  • Drizzled with a balsamic reduction
  • Optional, but not optional: lettuce & red onion from the Burger Bar

Another fan favorite BOTW!

A Burger Named Goat....even if you don't love goat cheese but just tolerate it, you'll probably really love this burger. It's worth getting, even if only for the garlic & basil mayo. 😋
Bonus Fun: Feed a leftover fry to a Sheep Named Goat (the burgers namesake) before you leave.

Farm Store Sales 🐐

You'll find all goat products and all G.O.A.T. (Greatest Of All Time) products on sale in the farm store and online this week, including ground beef, bacon, Onion-Leek brats, and more!!

Free gift with every on-farm store purchase >$100 this weekend too!

LIVE MUSIC from Nick Hensley, 5-8pm

Hensley’s alias, stage name and alter ego, Love Songs For Angry Men, was born as a joke on the editor of the City Pages, 10 years later...THE NAME WON’T GO AWAY! Hensley’s 3 STUDIO ALBUMS were released to sold out crowds in Saint Paul and Mpls, MN. The albums are available at all major retailers and the web. All three records have received rave reviews from different media outlets including Paste Magazine and AltCountry.com and a “best of” 2014 local selection of the City Pages.
Hensley has maintained a full schedule since 1998 playing more than 200 shows a year throughout the North America and overseas. They have shared the stage with several National acts including: The Why Store, Alex Ligertwood of Santana, Fastball, Big Head Todd and The Monsters, The Gear Daddies, The Samples, The Pines, Semisonic, Trampled By Turtles, John Hiatt, The Wallflowers, Soul Asylum and countless others.

Okay, that was really impressive and the only non-lead guitar solo act we know of, so now back to the lead guitar!

Sunday, September 8

Family Day! Buy one get one FREE kids meals all day!

UPDATES & REMINDERS

First, the bar is FULL of lots of great drinks! We're moving into fun fall-ish beers now and playing with some new seltzer flavors. 🍻

Now that we are post Labor Day, schedules do start to change a bit:

Friday music is not scheduled until we see how the weather looks.

Music Friday & Saturday starts earlier now, at 5pm.

Open Later!

The farm store will now be open until 6pm on Mondays and Tuesdays. Winter hours are still being decided, any thoughts? Hit reply!

Closing Earlier??

The "ish"s are back on Friday and Saturday night closing times since it gets dark early and can get very cold early. We may close at 8:30 if the weather and darkness lead us to believe no one else is coming, so if you are coming after 8pm, call or text to make sure the kitchen will be ready for you!

The bar and fire keep going until everyone's had enough though. So no hurry there. Just one more. :)

Closing, closing

Sunday, October 6th is our official last Burger Night of 2024.

We may do pop-ups on the weekends if the weather is nice, depends on how the pre-winter projects are moving along. Let us know if you want to help!

Hope to see you on the farm or online soon!!

Your farmer & flannel & fire-loving friend,

Stephanie Schneider

How TF Ended Up Nominated in 13 Best Of Categories (Hint: It Was Not My Marketing Skills)

If you ever needed proof that word of mouth is still the most powerful marketing tool on earth, here it is!  Together Farms was nominated in thirteen different Best of the Chippewa Valley categories! That is not a typo. Lucky number 13. Our biggest year yet!  Best Organic FarmBest Family Entertainment BusinessBest Place to Buy MeatBest Food Event (Burger Nights at Together Farms)Best Restaurant for Gluten-Free DiningBest Restaurant for Outdoor DiningBest Special Event Venue Small (Under 100)Best French Fries (Non-Franchise)Best Fried Cheese/CurdsBest Restaurant AtmosphereBest BurgerBest Shop for Gifts (Together Farms farm store)Best Restaurant Worth the DriveBest Place to Impress Out-of-town Guests You might be asking yourself the same question that I asked myself when I saw the list. How in the world does a business that does not post consistently on social media, does not send the Sunday recipe emails like it promises (sorry!), and does not even text regularly keep growing? And how does it end up popping up in all these categories?? The answer is simple: You. Together Farms is on the map because you talk to people about us. You tell coworkers to come out for Burger Night. You drag friends here to see the farm. You tag us in your posts and stories. You create reels that make our place look as magical as it feels in person. You share our meat with your families (and really good friends). You tell people where to find 100% grassfed beef, pastured pork and a really good time. You continue to overlook all our faults.  And when polls come around that help guide locals on where to go and what to do, you take a minute and click our name. So yeah, our marketing basically depends on you gossiping, but it is the wholesome kind. 😊 The Midwest kind. The kind that builds community instead of tearing anyone down. This is small town communication at its finest. As is being demonstrated in the photo.  Being recognized in all these categories is humbling and exciting and maybe a touch confusing for me, but mostly it is a reminder that this place means something to you.  It means enough that you talk about it when we are too busy or too tired or too overwhelmed to talk about it ourselves. That is not something we take lightly. But we haven't won yet!  So if you have a moment and want to toss a vote our way in the categories you think we actually earned, here is the link (or when you are on the Best Of site do a search for Together Farms): https://bit.ly/TFBestOf26 Every vote helps more people find us all year long since the Best Of magazine and website are probably the most used and trusted resources for finding things to do, places to be and people to support around here. We could not be more grateful for the community that keeps this little farm growing. Love you lots!  Steph & the TF Family
