Frequently Asked Questions

Looking for a specific product or brand? (For example, we are NOT Angelica's Garden.)

If it’s a Together Farms product, like our beef, pork, or lamb, or any of the frozen meat or fish we carry, we’re happy to help.

If it’s a product made by another small business that we carry, like Angelica’s sauerkraut, you may need to contact that business directly if you’re trying to buy from them outside of Together Farms or have specific questions about their product.

If you’re not sure, send us a message and we’ll do our best to point you in the right direction.

Are you open?

For the most accurate hours, please check the footer of our website. That’s one of the few places where we can clearly separate current farm store hours from Burger Night hours, including whether we’re on winter or summer hours.

During Burger Night season, we generally do NOT close for bad weather (it's Wisconsin, we'd be closed every 5 minutes), though we may close a few minutes early in rough conditions. Burger Night tends to wind down with the sun, so once it gets dark the kitchen is usually starting cleanup.

Do you ship to my area?

We ship frozen meat only within our qualifying UPS ground zones, up to 2-day ground from the farm (so in general central US). If you’re outside that area or on the coasts or far south, you can still order non-perishable items only which will ship nationwide for a flat fee. The easiest way to see what options are currently available to you is to enter your zip code here.

Do you wholesale your meats or products?

Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, we do not have enough supply at the moment to wholesale our products to other stores or restaurants.

If there is something very specific you are wondering about, you’re welcome to reach out. But as of right now, we definitely do not have enough supply to offer anything on a continuous basis.

How do you keep meat cold during shipping?

We ship orders frozen in insulated boxes with liners and dry ice and we ship out late in the day so your order spends as little time out of the freezer as possible; which means 1-day is usually only out of the freezer for 18 hours and 2-day is less than 48 hours in transit (though we plan for longer). We do not currenlty do air shipping, max is 2-day ground for meat orders.

What is Subscribe & Save? Do I need it to order?

Subscribe & Save is completely optional. You do not need a subscription to place an order. It’s simply there for people who want extra convenience, 5% off every recurring order, a free bonus item with each subscription order and first dibs on inventory when stock is tight. You can skip, swap, edit, or cancel anytime.

How do you raise your animals and manage your farm?

Our beef is 100% grass fed from birth to freezer, and our pork is pasture raised outdoors with housing and room to be pigs. We do not spray herbicides on our pastures, and we do not use pesticides, added hormones or antibiotics in or on our animals. No cages, crates or confinement. No mutilaton of any kind (teeth, tails, etc).

We also do not vaccinate, and we will never use mRNA or gene-editing technologies in our animals. Our goal is healthy pasture and soils in order to produce healthy animals and humans, long-term.

You can read more about how we do things here: Farm Practices.

Do your pigs eat only pasture?

No. Our pigs are pasture raised, but they are not on a grass-only diet. Unlike cattle, pigs are monogastric, which means they cannot get everything they need from grass alone. Along with pasture, they receive non-GMO feed from a local mill. We also let feeders run out at times so they keep grazing and rooting instead of just waiting for us to bring them food.

What does “spice extractives” mean on some labels?

“Spice extractives” is a legally allowed label term used to protect a proprietary spice blend. In plain English, it means the seasoning company does not have to spell out every individual spice in the mix.

For our products, that does not mean preservatives, nitrates, celery-derived cures, flavor enhancers, MSG, or hidden junk are being tucked under that phrase. It may include spice-derived ingredients such as pepper, paprika, turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, or similar seasonings.

Do you sell bulk beef or pork?

Yes. We offer bulk options, like 1/2s and wholes of beef and pork, at different times of the year. Availability can vary, so if you’re looking for a larger quantity, reach out and we’ll get you on the waiting list. The butcher no longer does 1/4s of beef fyi.
