Tonic Maple Syrup (officially called Botanicals Infused Tonic Maple Syrup) is made with all-natural Wisconsin grade A maple syrup, organic gentian root, lemongrass, organic ginger, organic orange peel, organic black pepper, organic juniper berries, organic cinnamon, and citric acid.
Each half-pint bottle contains enough syrup for 12-16 drinks. The recipe for a Gin & Maple Tonic is included on the label.
While tonic is best known in its water form, as a syrup, it's incredibly versatile. Tonic was initially developed as a medicine/treatment for malaria using cinchona bark. It quickly gained favor as a companion to gin, which is how it's mostly used today. We take a slightly different approach with Tonic Maple Syrup using gentian root as the primary bittering agent and adding depth and complexity with a variety of quality ingredients. While Tonic Maple Syrup won't protect you against malaria, it does make an excellent base for drinks. And, as a syrup, you can control the flavor intensity and sweetness by the amount you mix with any drink.
