Together Farms Annual Work Party
Can’t wait for Burger Night to fire up? Great news, it’s time for our annual Work Party and your chance to help us get there a little faster and a little better.
Every spring there’s a long list of setup, cleanup and sprucing up that has to happen before we can welcome everyone back. Between the farm, the store and Burger Night, there’s always more to do than the weather and calendar will kindly allow. So we’d love some extra hands to help us put our best foot forward before opening season.
This is our annual work party and no, it is not meant to be miserable, hence the word “party.” We’re excited to see you too. Think of it as helping your overloaded farmer friends by lending a hand with some useful, satisfying jobs that make a big difference fast, not as some grueling all-day hard labor punishment. You’ll be free to leave at any time.
We’ll have a mix of outdoor and indoor projects, so even if the weather acts like spring in Wisconsin and makes bad choices, we’ll still have things to do.

Some On-Farm Jobs May Include
- Setting up seating and guest areas
- Bar setup
- Hanging lights
- Painting and touch-ups
- Farm store organizing and labeling
- Ice cream setup in the store
- Garden bed cleanup
- General spring sprucing up
- Raking and filling in Winnie and Immy’s gopher-catching holes
- Fire pit redesign, no shoveling to China this year
- Picking up litter along our stretch of road
Can’t Help in Person?
We may also have a few virtual or computer-based projects for anyone who’d rather help from home, like building event listings, updating drafted recipe content and knocking out other putzy but useful behind-the-scenes tasks.
What We’ll Provide
- Food
- Drinks
- A free volunteer T-shirt
- Ice cream
- Birthday cake
That’s right, Saturday is Adeyle’s 17th birthday. The girl who’s been taking your orders for years (and putting up with your crap - you know who you are!). So there will be cake and the usual level of teenage girl birthday embarrassment. Gifts are optional, of course, but highly appreciated by any teenager who lives in the middle of nowhere and can drive (gas money - in case you need ideas).
Wear clothes that can get dirty and bring gloves, though we typically have a few extra floating around. If you want to bring your favorite tools, you can, but we’ve got plenty here too.
Skilled Labor?
If you have specific skills like carpentry, welding, chainsaw experience or general handy-person wizardry, we may have a few bonus jobs for you too.
A Few Notes
- If you need volunteer hours, please let Steph know ahead of time
- Kids under 12 should probably stay home unless they are farm smart, can work independently and can safely be around equipment and active projects
- You do not have to be here right at the start. Come when you can and stay as long as you’re able
- We’re keeping an eye on the weather and will post updates if needed
We are always blown away by the people who show up to help us get this place ready. It truly makes a difference, and we appreciate it more than we can say.
And yeah, we can pay staff to do all this, but ultimately that cost lands right back in the burger. So if you want to help us open strong, improve this place a bit and maybe keep us from losing our minds to spring chaos, come on out. We would love to have you. ♥
