Pizza Burgers

Ingredients
- (4 patties or 1 lb or 1 pkg) Italian Sausage Patties
- (4) Burger buns
- (3/4 to 1 cup) Pizza sauce
- (8 oz) Fresh mozzarella
- (1-2) Tomatoes, sliced (pat dry)
- (1/4 cup) Black olives
- Fresh basil leaves
- Optional: butter (for toasting buns), pepperoni, sauteed mushrooms, red pepper flakes
Directions
People's favorite pizza toppings are as varied as people themselves so please customize this recipe to your heart's content - just don't forget the TF patties!
- Cook the pork Italian patties over medium heat until cooked through. If doubling up, cook the beef patties too.
- Top the patties with mozzarella during the last minute of cooking and cover briefly to help it melt.
- Toast the buns cut-side down in a lightly greased skillet or on the grill, if desired (optional but in our world, toasted buns are mandatory).
- Spread warm pizza sauce on the buns.
- Assemble: add a pork patty, a beef patty too if you're doubling up, then top with all your favorite pizza toppings like: pepperoni, sauteed mushrooms, red onions, red pepper flakes, etc. (Pineapple?) Serve hot.

- Want to make it a double? Add one of our beef burger patties!
- Butter options.
- Gluten-free buns
- Use garlic bread as a bun substitute!
- Switch things up and use pesto instead of tomato sauce!
