Bacon Cheeseburgers

Ingredients
- (1 pkg) Burger Patties
- (1 lb) Bacon
- (to taste) TF Trifecta Seasoning Blend
- (As much as floats yer boat!) Cheese: Swiss, Cheddar, Pepperjack, Amerian or combo or whatever!
- (4) Buns
- (Optional) Brat Patties
- Your favorite toppings: ketchup, mayo, mustard, kraut, relish, pickles, raw or pickled onions, raw or pickled jalapenos, lettuce, tomato, etc
Directions
- If you prefer less mess and more hands-off cooking, try baking the bacon! To bake bacon: Preheat oven to 400°F, line a baking sheet with parchment paper, lay the bacon slices on the baking sheet (they can be touching, just not overlapping), cook for 10-20 min depending on your preferred crispiness. Remove and transfer to a paper-towel lined plate. Save the bacon fat for cooking.
- The patties can obviously be cooked any way you prefer: grill, flat top or stove top. We’re going to go with cast iron. Heat the pan over medium-high heat (note that your kitchen might get smoky!), add a little bacon fat to the pan, put burgers in and season the top side while the bottom cooks. Once the patty is browned on the bottom and cooked about halfway through, 4-5min, flip. Season the new top side and cook about 3-4 minutes, until your desired temp is reached. Top with cheese during last minute or two of cooking. Do NOT smash your burger while it cooks - you’re just forcing the delicious juiciness out and making it dry - do you know how hard it is to get this much fat into a cow eating only grass!? Please treasure it.
- While the burgers cook, butter & toast the buns (makes a big difference and worthwhile!).
- Assemble burgers: bottom bun > light smear of mayo (not for flavor, creates a barrier to keep bottom bun from getting soggy) > cheesy patty > bacon > desired toppings.
Notes
